31st July 2002 - BLACKBIRD LEYS LADIES WINS MAIDENS CUP

The Blackbird Leys Ladies section has won the Maidens Cup after winning on one rink, and drawing on the other in the final round of matches. The final match was played at Blackbird Leys with the competition wide open. Blackbird leys had lost on both rinks in the opening game held at Osberton, but won on both rinks in the second round held at Morris Motors. The 3 points in the final game meant that the trophy would be coming the Blackbird Leys for 2002. Click HERE to view the 2002 Maidens Cup results.

 

19th July 2002 - HERBIE PAYNE REACHES SEMI-FINAL OF LONGFORD

Herbie Payne has reached the last 4 of the Longford Cup after winning away at Rover. The Semi-Final and Final are to be played at Oxford City & County Bowls Club on Sunday 11th August 2002, starting at 10.30am - so come along and support him.

  
5th July 2002 - STAN WHEELER UNDER 31's TROPHY  DRAW COMPLETED

The draw for the Stan Wheeler Under 31's Trophy has now been completed. The number of entries this year is disappointingly low with only 9 entries in total, however the competition will continue.

5th July 2002 - HAWKER CUP

After two rounds played in the 2002 Hawker Cup competition there are mixed results for the Blackbird Leys teams.
The 'A' side are into the third round after two convincing wins against Deddington in the first round, and Hanborough in the second.
The 'B' side however were less fortunate and lost in the first round against a strong Chipping Norton team.
