SHORTMAT

COUNTY LEAGUE

BACKGROUND
The Oxford and District Shortmat Bowls League (or County League as it is most commonly referred to as) comprises of 12 teams from 8 Clubs in the Oxford Area. The league was started to 'span the gap' between the outdoor season finishing in one year, and starting again in the next. It allows bowlers from many different clubs to interact during the winter as they do during the summer. In addition it brings people into the Club's on nights were otherwise they might be closed, therefore it is a very good social game. Home games for BLBC are always on a Tuesday, with away games ranging from Monday to Thursday.

WINTER 2004 - 2005 SEASON
For the new season, BLBC has again entered TWO teams for the League, this means there will be a home game virtually every Tuesday throughout the winter.
